Life Changes...

Hey all!

London here! Long time, no blog! So much to catch you up on!

First things first: After four years of living in this condo here....

My momma's momma and daddy decided to (finally) buy a house up here! Which meant a huge change for me and my lifestyle....

But since they were moving to a bigger house, I decided I could help my momma pack.

Since it was such a cold weekend (after a haircut), I got the unfortunate pleasure of wearing a fleece. So, to help out, I decided to lay on her t-shirts. To keep them flat, of course!

It took me awhile to decide where *my* spot would be after the move.
I decided I liked this chair my momma has always had. She placed it right in front of the front window, so I can keep an eye out on what's going on outside.

I also decided I liked the table. My momma never really used it before, since it was up against a wall and in an awkward position. But now that we've moved, she uses it every day! But don't worry, I make sure she knows it's my spot. I love this spot, especially when she turns the fan on. Apparently, up here in Montana, they don't know what air-conditioning is. But it gets quite warm up here! So my momma put a fan in front of the window, and I really like to sit in front it. It helps a lot!

I also manage to get my water intake in. I know my momma worries about how much water I drink, but I've figured it out. The best tasting water is the water my momma drinks. But only as long as she is actively drinking it. Only then does it taste good.

Now, in my life, I'm used to only a few dogs.

One being Cabella, who won't play with me, unless I bother her a lot by poking her, and then hide behind the doggy gate so she gets frustrated and cant' reach me.

I think I may be able to get used to this new dog, Rowdy. My momma's momma and daddy adopted her when she followed momma's daddy home one day. I've heard she lives up to her name, but I think eventually she could obey my demands.

But then, the worst thing that could ever happen to me, happened....
.... my momma got a dog of her own!!!!!!!!!

This is so not good for me! Not only do I have to share my momma, this new creature requires too much of my momma's attention!!!!

(she's there, laying on the bed. My mom had to get a black dog, not matter how cute, which makes it hard to take selfies, HA!)

It requires my momma to drink way too much coffee, usually to stay awake outside in the rain, while the dog learns to 'go' outside...

The puppy likes to *help* my momma in the garden. All I know is my momma complains about how the puppy is always in the way when she's trying to weed the garden. Apparently, the puppy likes to chew on everything, including gloves, and trowels, and shovels....

Don't be fooled by the cuteness. Not only does she keep growing, but she keeps looking adorable!

She stole my spot on the couch....  (which I only like now that she's always on it....)

...and on my momma's fleeces  (well.... it really belongs to my momma's brother. But after hearing my momma talk, he's never, EVER, getting it back....)

My momma takes this puppy on walks....

... where she brings home strange sticks. My momma mentioned that she carried this particular stick over half the walk! Who does that?!?!

She likes to sleep in strange places, like momma's old pillows

Again, don't be fooled by the cuteness....

....she totally stole the toilet paper in the bathroom. Even though I've thought about it, at least I've never done it!!!

Other dogs like to come over now and play with her. Although, don't be fooled by this picture. This dog 'Tug' seems to be on top, but don't worry; my puppy Maddie (short for Madison {momma's favorite river to float up here, just like I'm named after her favorite city... EVER}) definitely kept him in line. He may appear to be winning, but in actuality, Maddie wins most fights...

Unfortunately, she keeps growing.....

... and growing...

And apparently has to take a 'puppy class' at the local pet store. I hear that she's doing well (other than the first day, where she caused all sorts of problems, like barking CONSTANTLY), and I'm glad to know she's going to be at least learning something.

Me? I had to get another haircut....

... and my mom made them cut my tail this time. So now I have this weird, what they call 'lion's tail' on my tail. Not exactly awesome....

But honestly, I do actually love my life. Sometimes, my momma doesn't make sure the door actually closes, and I can escape outside for a time. It's fine, until the dog becomes my personal patrol officer and chases me down.  Then my mom makes me come inside. Bummer. And I know I need to make a huge deal over my (somewhat) silly haircut, but honestly, I can feel when my momma pets me now. So I may sure to cuddle up to her at night so she gives me extra cuddles. The only thing I need to do is make sure she knows that I'm the boss and I'm the oldest pet, so I get the most attention. Unfortunately, I think we both agree that the puppy needs quite a bit attention at the moment to learn the rules. She usually forgets. But she's slowly learning! Lately, instead of running away to a higher ground (like the table), I've been staying on the same floor as she has, and when she gets to close, just batting her with my paws. Good thing for her I don't have front claws. Someone has to put her in her place!

All in all, I'm okay with the new house and the new puppy. But don't tell my momma that. She may get weird ideas, like the puppy gets more attention, and I don't need my special kitty treats (they're so yummy!) Life has gotten a bit crazy, but I'm okay with that. And (don't tell my momma!) I'm okay with that!
